Julie J. Guerrero is a Human Resources and HR Tech professional and lifetime student of history, music and art. She has over 15+ years of professional experience that spans across international, national, state, and local organizations. Her clients and community partners describe her working style as creative, personable and authentic. She appreciates the discipline of a project plan, as well as the space needed to innovate.
Whether it is working in HR as a generalist or specialist or most recently, in HR tech, Julie's overall professional goal is to help elevate the HR profession. In her current role as Customer Success Manager for an HR software company, she blends her professional background in Human Resources, experience with projects and love for HR technology to partner with HR leaders on system implementation, training, and optimization. Her HR experience and understanding of HR business processes, allows her to connect quickly with stakeholders of all levels. With Julie, clients know that they are receiving product advice and training that is also vetted by an added HR lens. She first discovered that HR would be a good fit in 2006, when she moved into the Benefits and Administration Coordinator role at the national education non-profit organization, Teach For America. She loved understanding the nitty-gritty of benefits administration and payroll and helping employees understand their benefits. The bulk of her HR career was with UNICEF New York Headquarters where she held a wide variety of roles supporting international staff in country offices around the globe. She specialized in supporting emergency duty stations in the Middle East and North Africa, Western and Central Africa and Eastern and Southern Africa regions, working on various HR systems projects. Julie lives in Brooklyn, NY with her wife, Karen. She attended Mount Holyoke College, SUNY Rockland Community College and holds her bachelor's degree in American History from New School University. She writes daily and enjoys photography, running, hiking, playing the piano, and listening to music from the 80s and 90s. During her time at home in 2020, she discovered new hobbies, including sidewalk chalking, hammock-ing, and gardening. |
